Why I should take deriphylin retard 150 mg for life long ? I have only been diagnosed a MILD CYLINDRICAL BRONCHIEACTASIS. Does it mean that I have Asthma ? Even though the antibiotic (Doxy 1 100 mg) is a broad spectrum anti bacterial drug, is it specifically meant for ASTHMA ?. Deriphylin retard 150 mg is exclusively meant for Asthma?
Brief Answer:
Bronchiectesis is itself obstructive Airway disease.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There is a term known as Obstructive Airway Disease (OAD). There are three common diseases classified in this.
1. Asthma
2. Bronchitis
3. Bronchiectesis.
All these disorders cause bronchospasm. Deriphyllin is needed to treat this bronchospasm. Deriphyllin is bronchodilator in nature.
Therefore, the need of Deriphyllin depends on your symptoms and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) results.
Answers to questions such as 'What are your symptoms?', and 'Have you undergone PFT?' will guide a person better towards appropriate treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.
