Question: I take 180mg of morphine sulfate a day along with 20mg of dilaudid per day. Is this too much opiates to be taking according to new government laws?
Brief Answer:
NO, it should not be the case!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about your pains. what strikes me is how much pain medications you need to take in order to get your pain addressed. I understand this must be a very disabling pain. Courage as you continue the battle.
How much pain medications a patient receives is determined by her individual pain severity. No one should and can impose how much of this medication is supposed to be dispensed. The goal of treatment is to achieve tolerable pain levels with drugs that are safe. In this light, we shall use as much as possible and safe until our clients receive adequate pain control.
The new laws make getting these drugs more difficult and impose control to make sure those receiving them are not selling illegally. But how much a client receives has no cap. If you recently found some information relating to this, please share with me because it has not been made known my colleagues and I.
In all, no government laws have imposed a cap on these medications to the best of y knowledge as of date. If you have information to the contrary, share with me, please.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for clarifications and more information if need be.

Hi and thanks for these updates.
Feel free to talk to your doctor about this. Should he say anything to the contrary, let me know and kindly ask him the text stipulating thus for your personal reading.
In all, do not even get bothered at what dosage is acceptable. All what matters is to get your pain well controlled. He would do that and you so not worry about it.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks and stay in touch.
