Question: would like to know if there is anything natural that can be used instead of 400mg daily of acyclovir. Am afraid of possible side effects. Thank you.

have had eruptions on my face on/off for over seven years. have been to two dermatologist, family physician and chiropractor. nothing has helped so my family physician asked on last visit if I had ever had shingles. answer is yes: mild case over twenty years ago which made him think the eruptions could be from the herpes simplex virus. he did blood work to look at the titer. so the acyclovir was prescribed. the only medicine I have ever taken is the armor dessicated thyroid and I begged my physician to let me use the natural instead of the snythroid. I am so concerned about long term effects of most pharmacology. as we all know sometimes the cure if more trouble than the ailment. thank you so much. all if want to do is get over this problem.
