Suggest Exercises For Osteoporosis
Many types of exercise will be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
if you are not already exercising then you should start with gentle body weight exercises. there's no need to join a gym although having a friend or personal instructor can be of motivational benefit.
A good website that I use Personally is maxcapacity.com
This will maximize the amount of exercise you can do at your own pace. even if you do push ups on your knees to start with or find easier ways of substituting the exercises for easier ones until your fitness improves.
If you cannot manage this then simple squats and lunges are a good exercise to begin with. that if done correctly will strengthen the muscles around your hips and back. A straight plank or plank bridge with your head upwards is an extremely good exercise for all of the areas you want to work. these are difficult to start with but if you can manage 4 reps even for a short period it is a good start.
Any exercise helps strengthen the bones and improve muscle around the joints. a brisk 20-30 minute walk 3 times a week or swimming in the pool for 30 minutes will be beneficial to you.
The important thing is to start at yor own pace, don't give up and build on progress.
I hope this answers your question.
best wishes
Sit-ups not recommended
Detailed Answer:
hi,
thanks for your question. I would not recommend doing sit-ups. they are difficult and may hurt your abdominal and or back muscles and or bones. you would be much better using a plank for core strengthening early on in you excercise regimen.
Pilates classes are also very good for core strengthening and could be done at your own pace.
