Suggest Food Supplements To Help Clear Cervical And Vaginal HPV Infection

Question: I was diagnosed with carcinogenic cervical hpv strain 1.5 years ago. I suspect I was infected 4 years ago. Since then I have had 2 colonoscopies showing cervical and vaginal hpv positive with no cellular changes. My doctor believes I have a good chance of clearing the infection with time. I am 52 years old. Are there any supplements or food products that can help me clear this infection? I have read a study on mushrooms that might be promising. Please advise.
Brief Answer:
Folic acid
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
the only fairly well documented supplement is folic acid because folic acid deficiency seems to facilitate the incorporation of the HPV DNA to the host DNA, which may end up in a malignant transformation. Please note that folic acid will help to reduce the risk for malignant transformation. It won't clear the HPV by itself. More than 90% of new HPV infections may become undetectable within then next 6 months, so your chances are very good.
Since you've had negative cytology results (but still positive for HPV), you've got to repeat the tests after one year.
I hope I've helped!
Kind Regards!

Thank you for your advice. What is a safe daily amount to supplement with folic acid?
Brief Answer:
500mcg would be fine
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
500mcg should be enough for you. I would suggest measuring your folic acid and B12 levels before starting taking it, just in case there is a deficiency.
Kind regards!
