Suggest Ideal Diet For 1.9 Year Old Baby?
Thanks for posting the query.
A god diet plan for children of this age includes almost all types of food. However, his eating pattern would largely depend on his preferences. It is very important that you bring a variety in the diet and also, make sure that the child is happy with the flavor and texture of the food.
Include more fruits, cereals and pulses in the diet. Milk and milk products are also important. If your child is still taking the breast feed, you may continue with it, along with a proper solid food plan.
The following foods should be included daily in the diet:
• Milk and its products – these may be used in different forms like plain milk, custard, porridge, kheer , etc. include paneer and cream in your baby’s diet.
• Dals are good source of proteins. Prefer the washed and split dals in the form of soups, Khichri etc. Legumes and whole pulses are heavy for digestion, so should be given in controlled quantities and for lunch preferably.
• You must have started the cereals already, these may be continues. But at the same time it’s important that you keep a check on any sign of indigestion. Wheat flour, XXXXXXX rawa can be given in different forms.
• Fruits are very important as they provide hydration, vitamins and minerals to the diet. Add cut fruits, juices and shakes in the diet.
• All types of vegetables can be given to him at this age. Be careful about the preparation method. For e.g. A roasted potato jacket would be healthier and lighter than a fried one.
• Fats are important. Include white butter and cream in the diet. you may use these for kneading the dough for his chapattis.
Your child, in this age is developing a relationship with food. And to make it a healthy and lasting relation, you have a great role to play. Go easy with the child about his meal timings and ensure variety. If a particular food item is rejected by your baby, try it again after an interval in a different form. E.g. If he is not taking XXXXXXX try XXXXXXX juice. This trick generally helps.
Bring juices and other drinks like coconut water in the child’s routine, to keep him hydrated and active. Avoid too much of refined and preserved food, or the foods that contain derivatives.
Keep introducing new foods.
Hope This Helps,
