Question: I am 29 Year old male.. May i know what are some good fruits and food items i can use for following purposes :

1. Skin Care
2. Hair Care
3. Weight Control
4. cholesterol Level Control
And what and how much should i eat at night to keep in control all the above things

Hello Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us at hcm.
This is Dr.Riyanka and I am glad to be helping you with your query.

Skin care:
1. Make a paste out of ripe bananas and papayas and use as a face pack.
2. Drink green tea daily in the mornings- antioxidant.
3. Place used tea bags on eyelids after a days work for 15 minutes to remove
dark circles.
4. Curd and gram flour have natural beaching effect on the skin.
5. Drink lots of water. Recommende 2-3litres /day.

Hair Care:
1. Donot use the same shampoo for a long duration. keep shifting the shampoo
brands every 3 months.
2. Use non perfumed pure oils for hair.
3. Avoid hot water on hair.
4. Egg and curds have conditioning effect on the hair and help remove dandruff.

Weight control:
1. Avoid fatty foods.Eat more of fibre containing fruits and vegetables rich in
vitamins and minerals like guava, citrus fruits, papaya, green leafy
vegetables.
2. Avoid eating too much of carbohydrates as they convert to fat.
3. Go for brisk walks and cardio exercises.
4. Opt for oats for breakfast. Have 6 small meals a day. Have a good fulfilling
breakfast and cut down on lunch and dinner.
5. Never lie down immediately after taking meals.

Cholesterol control:
1. Avoid deep fried items. instead opt for baked foods.
2. Have fibrous diet as explained earlier.
3. Avoid too much of sweets. However, make sure you do eat everything you
like to eat , but in moderation.
4.Cut down on alcohol and smoking.
5. Avoid red meat and opt for fish and lean meat.

Regular exercise , a balanced nutritious diet and most importantly a sound sleep of atleast 7 and half hours every night is very important for Good Health.
