Increase the caloric value and frequency of feeds

Hello
Thanks for the query
I can understand your concern.Weight of 7.5 kg at 11 month for a bay whose birth weight was 3.26 kgs indicates that there is poor weight gain.
I would suggest you to give more of home based food (rather than Nan pro as a main diet) and to make it rich in calories.
Unlike adults the proportion of fat requirement is more in infancy and toddlers.
Add some butter, edible oil to the food to make it energy dense. As baby has completed 11 month now you can also give egg to meet the protein and fat requirement.
Gradually Increase the amount of feed. There should be three major meals(each serving consisting of 3/4th to one full small bowl) and two to three snacks consisting of fruits, breads or biscuits(to meet the vitamin requirement).
Give breast milk during night time if she demands.
I hope with all these measures her weight will improve.
Timing of eruption of teeth varies among individuals.I wont get worried as already one tooth has been erupted.
Also I won't get overly worried if there is no persistent vomiting, loose stools or repeated illness(respiratory or GI infections).
I would like to get thyroid profile, iron profile and serum vitamin D level done as deficiency of these nutrients are very common and they have very important role in growth of baby.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
Regards
I will certainly include butter. Can that be regular Amul salted butter ? I restrict her sugar intake as almost zero, is that ok ? Which means I do not give her any biscuits or bread as such. Can store bought bread and biscuits be given to her?
I work late hours, in the nights she has breast milk. This is like only two or three feeds. The other times during the day she has formula. How much milk should she be taking at this age?
Another observation is that, she sweats a lot specifically her head. Even in warm room temperature, she sweats. Is that normal? Or should that be concern.
Thank you for your response.

Its really good to know that you give all the nutritious food to the baby.As she has approached 11 months you can give small amount of salt or sugar as by this age kidney is mature enough to handle.Better you add ghee to the diet.If you are giving khichdi, dosa and all; there is no need to give bread and biscuits.
You can continue giving formula milk but make sure that it is age appropriate and dilution is proper. As you are giving regular diets 200-250 ml of formula milk and 3-4 of night time breast feed is sufficient.
As your diet chart is good chances of nutritional deficiency are less.Still I would like to get thyroid profile, iron profile and serum vitamin D level done to be on safer side and for better care of the baby.
In most of the cases the excess sweating is just a normal variation. There are few uncommon condition like any congenital heart disease can also cause excess sweating during feed or suck rest suck cycle during feed.I wont get overly worried as she is 11 months old and I hope she has been clinically examined by physicians a number of time earlier .
Monitor her growth on growth chart and please let me know if you have any more doubts.
All the best and wishing for good health of your family.
Thanks and regards
