Question: I have extreme pms and after researching for a couple of years, i think i have pmdd. How do i find out? Not sure if i should see md or psychiatrist

Based on the history you have shared, and the previous queries as you have mentioned, like having weaping spells and mood lability alongwith body aches, it all can be inter - related, and pmdd or Pms can be a reason for all the issues but before labeling under any of these spectrum of symptoms; it is advisable to exclude all other causes including hormonal disturbances and infective causes. For that consultation by a gynecologist and hormonal screen and pelvic ultrasound might be needed. Unless any such abnormality is not noted, such diagnosis shouldnt be concluded as final diagnosis . Meanwhile all the suggestions regarding your emotional disturbances that we have discussed in earlier threads and psychologists sessions should be started. Following all those suggestions will be of help as a whole not specifically for the other issue.
