Suggest Medical Tests To Rule Out UTI

Question: Hi - I went to my doctor because I suspected I had a UTI and then took the over the counter strip test and it confirmed I have elevated Leukocyte levels. I didn't really have much burning or discomfort, but I just felt something wasn't right. I had chills and a temp of 99.3. The doctor said thought UTI and gave me a script for 7 days of macrobid. I took another home test at the conclusion of the macrobid and the strip said I still had elevated leukocytes in my urine. Doc then gave me a week prescription for Keflex. I've been taking it for almost three days and the strip is still purple (indicating leukocytes still present). Should I be worried this is something more serious? Do I really not have a UTI? What should I do next?
Brief Answer:
I suggest to get a urine culture and sensitivity test done first.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, welcome to HCM.
I do not think that it is serious but you need to get the right tests done to confirm the cause. I suggest to get a urine culture and sensitivity test done first.
Based on the results, if UTI is confirmed, sensitive antibiotics from the tests results can be initiated.
If negative for UTI, further testing for alternative diagnosis should be done.
Hope it helps.
