Suggest Medication For BPH

default
Posted on Mon, 11 Jan 2016
Question: I need to know which one of the 3 meds below would be best for my BPH...I am 67, sometimes get up 4 to 5 times a night to urinate.....no burning, no pain, just cannot empty bladder in full especially at night. 2 to 3 hrs in between.
I ave tried Urimax .04 before with mixed results, and had dry ejaculation.
Flomax
Flomax is used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate - a condition technically known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH. Relaxing muscles in the bladder and prostate, it improves urine flow rates and decreases urinary hesitancy/urgency.

Urimax D
Urimax D is a combination of tamsulosin (Flomax) and dutasteride (Avodart) used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Urimax F
Urimax F is a combination of tamsulosin (Flomax) and finasteride (Proscar, Propecia) used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Brief Answer:
consider urimax d

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

CONSIDER URIMAX D , SLIGHT LESS RISK OF SEXUAL SIDE EFFECTS WITH AVODART AS COMPARED TO FINASTERIDE.

Both the avodart and proscar/propecia work to reduce the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
DHT has been thought to play a role in the enlargement of the prostate.

Proscar stops one pathway that can result in this conversion whereas avodart stops 2 possible ways.

Because of this avodart is normally associated with lower levels of the DHT.

Both meds decrease the size of the prostate and increase urine flow. Both are associated with the small risk of sexual side effects such as decreased libido, impotence, issues with ejaculation (dry ejaculation possibly)
These effects occur in the minority of persons.

There are slight less possible effects with avodart so you can consider this with the flomax- urimax d

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
