I need to know what medications to take for GERD when u r type 1 diabetic. I cannot eat and BS gets very low during the night. I have been taking Omeprazole for 3 months, it worked to begin with, but no longer works.

Use insulin pump humalog carb ratio 1:10. A1c 6.8. Take Losartan 50mg 1 daily
Amlopine 5 Mg daily
Hydrochlotithiaze 12.5 mg daily
Pravastatin 40 mg nightly

Brief Answer:
As detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
You may please continue with Omeprazole.

You may please get an additional prescription from your Doctor for the following:
-Tab Ranitidine 150mg. Sugar-free antacids every three hours, particularly when on empty stomach.
-Tab Domperidone twice daily before food.

I hope these will help you further for control of GERD.

Control of blood sugar is of utmost importance.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Avoid stress and/or anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
You have to continue these.

None of the medicines are known to cause GERD.
The A1c level is okay.
Please get a prescription for additional medications.
Avoid stress and/or anxiety as these increase GERD drastically and make medicines less effective and also increase the impairment of pre-existing diabetes and hypertension.

Regards
