Suggest Medication For IBS
Question: Hi Doctor,
I was in XXXXXXX in 2013 and I was having very bad motions. I have done colonoscopy as per doctors suggestions.Reports were normal. I have been told i have IBS. I have tried many medicines like O2, Roka but it gives me temporary relief.
It has been two years I am suffering from IBS. Can you please help me cure this. I am a travel photographer. But because of IBS I cant travel. I want to get well soon as it is affecting my job.
My life is full of stress, I have been told its because of stress
Can you please suggest some good medicines, also some diet please.

I understand your concern
well likely you have IBS but have other diseases like thyroid problem or gluten allergy been ruled out, its worthwhile getting tests done for same once.
in addition ibset is a good drug and especially if it helps you then can continue to take it, in addition can try tryptomer which you have been taking earlier as after consulting your doctor it will help you in long run but may need dose titration.
also worthwhile trying a course of rifaxamin 400 mg thrice a day for 10 days after consulting your doctor and see how you feel.
in addition cutting down on stress, regularizing your eating sleeping habits regular exercise will help you in long run.
