Suggest Medication For Actinic Porokeratosis
Question: My husband has been diagnosed with disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis. As I understand there is no cure. Is there anything he can put on it to stop the dryness and itching and everything else that goes along with it.
Brief Answer:
Sunscreen, moisturizing lotion, antihistaminic
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic,
You can go for symptomatic treatment for disseminated superficial actinic porokeratosis.
I would recommend you to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen on the sun-exposed areas during the day time along with a moisturising lotion containing white soft paraffin on the entire affected areas 2-3 times in a day. This will take care of dryness and itching.
For itching, he can take antihistaminic like tablet Levocetirizine 5 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
