Suggest Medication For Anxiety Which Has Less Side Effects
Question: What is the least side effect anti-anxiety prescription medicine? I am a 54 year old woman and have tried most all of the anti depression drugs over many years. However, I need to find a newer anti-anxiety medicine without nausea and other side effects that I cannot tolerate since I am older and hate to get another one that does not suit me. This includes naseau, too much adrenaline and other side effects?
Brief Answer:
lorazepam and low dose propranolol
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome
I appreciate your concern
Lorazepam would be a good option initially. Low dose propranolol can also be added if lorazepam alone does not help. Response to medication determines whether a medication would be continued or not. Though lorazepam is very well tolerated most of the times. Propranolol should not be advised or taken if you have COPD or respiratory distress. Please consult your doctor before taking any medication.
