Suggest Medication For Anxiety

Question: I am wondering about adjunct or add on medications for my anxiety. I am currently on 100mg of Pristiq but 150mg seems to make me too tired and increases appetite. I have been stable on 100mg for about 2-3 years.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Since you are having partial response and remission of symptoms on same medication for last two to three years, adding buspiron might help you to control anxiety. This is a primary anti anxiety drug and have good role as a primary medication as well as adjunct medication.

I feel it is better option for you as you tried almost every other class of anxiolytics.

The dose range of buspiron is 15-60 mg per day taken in divided dosages according to response of the patient.

As it is prescription drug you need to get prescription from your psychiatrist.
