Suggest Medication For Chronic Bacterial Vaginosis
Question: Hello
I suffer from chronic BV. Normally I get it after having sex,and I've used Metronidazole and other drugs but they are not effective enough. So I wanted to know about the methods for preventing BV. I've heard about Apple vinegar and baking soda. Are they effective for preventing BV after sex?
If the answer is yes, how should I use them? Can I use them as Vaginal douche or washing the vagina externally would be enough?
Should I use the after sex or before that?
And finally how often should I use them?Everyday?Every other day?Every week?..
Thank you very much for the information

Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
You have recurring BV.
I have some suggestions for you:
1. These agents are not much effective for BV.
2. Vaginal douching should be avoided in such cases.
3. You can use V-wash for external cleaning of vagina.
4. Use condoms during intercourse.
5. You can use intravaginal metronidazole gel for extended periods of 4-6 months.
6. Get your partner tested.
