Suggest Medication For Chronic Pain In The Legs And Buttocks
Question: What can I do to alleviate pain until I see a surgeon? MRI results:L4/5 herniated disc, L4/5 impingement, spinal stenosis & osteo arthritis. Pain/numbness/cramping left leg, butt and sharp pains cause me to urinate and I think it's spreading to right side...occasional tingle in right leg. Cannot get comfortable in any position. Sudden moves make my left leg give out almost making me fall. My G.P. has given script for muscle relaxer and 7.5/325 Hydrocodone but can't get relief or sleep for more than an hour at a time. HELP!! Thank You..XXXXX
Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
You are having lumbosacral radiculopathy. You should continue pain killers and muscle relaxant. The doses may be increased after consulting your doctor if releif is inadequate.
Additionally, you can take pregabalin or gabapentin or amitryptiline for pain modulation.
Avoid lifting heavy objects, squatting, sitting crossed leg, stooping forward.
Get physiotherapy guidance too.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
