Diverticulosis should be treated with antibiotics only if there is inflammation of diverticula called diverticulitis and it should be confirmed with scan. In this case, it is usually treated with combination of ciprofloxacin and metronidazol, alternative may by Clyndamicin + cephalosporine. Almost every antibiotic is more or less irritative for stomach and bowels so it may cause nausea or diarrheas. Ciprofloxain and metronidazole have less side effects then most others so it can be taken safely.But you should have easier diet and probiotics during antibiotic course. WIsh you good health. Regards
