Suggest Medication For Recurring Fungal Infection

Posted on Fri, 24 Jul 2015
Question: Hi:
I went to a doctor in XXXXXXX for a bad rash under 1 arm and in my crotch. I had the rash under my arm before and my doctor in Newcastle, XXXXXXX treated me for a strep infection. I went to a doctor here in Port Moody and they said that it wasn't a strep infection that it was a fungal infection and gave me medication. The medication says use it sparingly and I have. I still have about 1/3 of the container left but as soon as I start to sweat...the rash comes back.

Brief answer.....take oral anti fungal medicines also
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Your symptoms and the subsequent improvement of symptoms with the local application of anti fungal lotion clearly proves that your diagnosis of fungal infection is absolutely correct.
What you need to do is...
Apply this lotion regularly for at least 2 weeks more after clearing of all your lesions.
In addition take an oral antifungal medicine FLUCANAZOLE in the dose of 150 mg every week for 4 weeks for complete eradication of fungus.
In addition make sure to use only cotton undergarments.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
