Suggest Medication For Runny Nose And Fever

Question: Hi Dr, my 13 month old daughter had slightly running nose in the morning and now body temperature has increased a little, last time our pediatrician prescribed us babygesic and XXXXXXX drops, right now we have put only alex+ drops. Is that enough or should we put babygesic also?
Brief Answer:
Babygesic will help in reducing the temperature
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking us.
Your child is probably suffering from a viral infection. XXXXXXX drops will take care of the cough. But you also need to bring down the temperature. Babygesic drops contain ibugesic which is effective in reducing temperature. So, if the child develops fever with a temperature more than 100° F, you need to give babygesic drops as prescribed.

Hello Dr, thank you for the reply. Please let me know what quantity of babygesic has to be put based on the prescription attached, is it 5ml, 4 times?
Brief Answer:
5ml as per requirement
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have gone through the prescription attached. Although the doctor has suggested Babygesic syrup 5 ml on 6 hourly basis or in other words, 4 times a day, I would say that it would be enough giving 5 ml of it only when the temperature is raised.

Thank you Dr., Will follow your suggestion and till when should we see and visit doctor? Is there a necessity to visit doctor today?
Brief Answer:
Need to be concerned only if fever lasts >7 days
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Viral fevers generally last for 5-7 days. So, you would have to be patient for this duration. But if the fever does not resolve even after 7 days, definitely there is cause to be concerned and then you need to visit your doctor for some tests to rule out any other possible cause. Otherwise, you may be patient and wait and you need not visit the doctor every day. However, please keep your treating doctor informed with the updates of the condition of the child.
