Suggest Medication For Severe Anxiety
Question: Hi, I had some issues that resulted in my Dr thinking I was suffering from anxiety. I had bloodwork, catscan and EKG and all my results were very good. I only take Asthma meds Advair and Salbutamol. I had been given Lorazepam and Hospital as they thought I had anxiety due to high heart rate at time. My Dr then prescribed Venlafaine 37.5mg once a day, I only took for 2 days and found side effects were too strong. My Dr is away so I was thinking of just taking my Lorazepam .5mg dose in meantime, can this be taken daily? I am 5' 10'' 175lbs and 51 years old. Thx xxxx
Brief Answer:
Consultation
Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxx.
Yes, lorazepam 0.5mg can be taken daily. It will be okay to take only this, and not the venlafaxine. Hopefully when your doctor gets back they will find a suitable medicine to replace venlafaxine. There are many available.
