Suggest Medication For Vitamin-D Deficiency
Question: I have a vitamin D deficiency. How much vitamin D should I take?
Brief Answer:
1500-2000 IU per day should be enough
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
1500-2000 IU per day are usually enough. D2 or D3 won't make a big difference. Sun exposure helps a lot because the ultraviolet radiation of the sun helps the skin create vitamin D. Foods with vitamin D content include the fatty fish, dairy products and eggs yolks.
Since you haven't mentioned any medical history, I gather you're otherwise healthy. After 6-8 weeks you can check your vitamin D levels again (25-hydroxy-vitamin D). They should be between 30-100 ng/mL.
I hope you find my comments helpful!
You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.
Kind Regards!
