Question: It's 4am I am experiencing yeast infection. Is there anything I can do now

I am sweating and extremely uncomfortable. I have had a cold all week and an awful cough. I did a get a prescription cough syrup and the cough is better. but am so very warm and the vaginal area is like a bad yeast infection. Feel like I need to pee but nothing comes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
I am Dr. Shuba Hari XXXXXXX and will be answering your query today.

Would you clarify a few things for me, please?
*how long have you had the yeast infection?
*have you been treated for it now or previously?
*do you have any other medical issues or take any medication on a daily basis?
*do you /did you have a fever?

For the itching /discomfort , I suggest
- Wash the urethra and vaginally area with warm water to clean area and then immediately with cool to cold water to relieve the itch. Leave to air dry well after wiping with clean towel or tissue.
- drink plenty of water. Cranberry juice helps if you a urine infection.

If the yeast infection is confirmed, you will need antifungal treatment
- clotrimazole ointment for local application twice a day for 2 weeks, to be gradually reduced in frequency after 2 weeks. Once at night for a week and then every alternate night for another week.
-oral antibiotics /antifungals depending on whether you have a urine infection or severe yeast infection.

I suggest you see a doctor at the earliest to check for the cause and severity of the infection and to treat appropriately.

Hope these measures help. You might have to do it frequently. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with.
Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr. Shuba XXXXXXX
