Question: Married in 2014 and had our first child in 2014 and after that my spouse was on precaution through Intrauterine Device (IUD) Birth Control. Now we are planning for our second child so IUD was removed recently and she has been suggested to use Iron tablets including Macalvit Tabs and Renerve Capsule for 3-6 months. Otherwise everything is healthy with my spouse.

I am diagnosed with Type2-Diabeties last year and currently on Medication and using Glycomet GP1 ; Ecosprin AV75 ; Multi Vitamin-Mecofol Plus .

Since I am affected with Diabeties I dont want to take risk and affect this on my future kid hence I am asking if I can get some Multi-Vitamin tablets ? I checked through my friends and been sugguested to use Co-Q Forte Capsules and Maxoza-L Sachets

Brief Answer:
You can take some multivitamin.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I think you can take some multivitamin specific. But the future risk to your baby will still be there as diabetes is a genetic disorder and it increases the risk of diabetes in your child by 10 to 15 percent. Taking vitamin supplements will not decrease that risk. Due to diabetes, there can be some sperm motility issues and sexual disorders like erectile dysfunction, for which you can take antioxidants and coenzyme Q. But do a semen analysis for yourself. If it is fine and you don't have any other symptoms, there is nothing to worry about. You can consult an XXXXXXX if an6 problem is there. Keep your sugar levels under control. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any other query, I will be happy to help.

Thanks for the quick response Dr. XXXXXXX

Do you have any specific plan/timings for me ? What would be the time to take these multi-vitamins Coenzyme-Q and for how long ?

Since I had this suggestion from my friend I just want to be sure and is it required to have Maxozo-L Sachets as well ?

I didn't had any issues having my first child but yes I think its a good idea to have semen analysis done to get the clear picture, I plan to do this sometime soon.

Syed.

Brief Answer:
You can take vitamin supplements for 3 months.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, you can take coenzyme Q and other vitamin supplements like Maxoza L for 3 months. Dose can be 2 times a day. But I think you should go for a semen analysis first after 3 to 5 days of contact. It will give a clear picture. In the mean time you can start these medicines. Antioxidants and vitamins do increase the fertility. If you have any other query, I will be happy to help.
