Brief Answer:
Male Pattern Baldness and details

Detailed Answer:
Dear

Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and following points are worth mentioning:

1. MPB [male pattern baldness/androgenic alopecia although is related to gene and male sex hormone but a skin biopsy, blood tests, or other procedures may be needed to diagnose other disorders that cause hair loss.

PS. You need to Consult a Trichologist for your hair loss to rule out any other pathology, who will make sure that you are not affected with any fungal infection of the scalp [eczema/psoriasis or seborrhea dermatitis ]
2. If a close family member has the disease, the risk of developing it is slightly increased .

3. PREVENTIVE ASPECT
i. Avoid too much exposure to sun.
ii. As you are from XXXXXXX [karnataka] thus summer season is one of the culprits; make sure you take adequate protection for the same.
iii. Avoid high extremes of temperature
iv. After bath make sure you avoid vigorous toweling of hair, let them dry naturally.
v. Make less choice for synthetic hair oils, hair coloring, bleaching, styling and use of dry blowers.
vi. Avoid excessive exposure to sun, heat, wind, dust, anger, stress, anxiety,
vii. Avoid oily, fried, spicy, hot, fermented and stale food.
viii. Proteins are essential for antibodies production so milk, egg (white), beans, yogurt, soymilk, pumpkin, squash, watermelon, peanuts, almonds, if non-vegetarian (meat) are choices .
ix. XXXXXXX carrots, cantaloupe, egg yolk, apricots, pumpkin, papaya, are ideal
x. Vitamin C: is needed for proper functioning of immune system: amla is good option.
xi. Vitamin E: is a powerful anti oxidant thus peanuts, dried apricots, cooked spinach taro root can be taken
xii. Soap nut (reetha) and shikakai along with Bhringraj and Neelini oil acts as natural conditioner and XXXXXXX you can use it safely.

4. Initially one can start with Immunomodulation [Rasayan Chikitsa] Treatment and later restore to non- surgical hair replacement [if hair loss is psychologically traumatic and some people may have a poorer outcome with Conservative line of treatment]

Do revert back for any concern.

PS. cost will depend upon the number of viable hair follicles and if the hair loss is still progressive then PRP [platelet rich plasma] is better option since it is prepared from your own blood and then injected on your scalp with good results. For the said procedure kindly search a good plastic surgeon or Dermatologist around your area.

Since my sister in law lived in XXXXXXX few years ago, I can recall she use to tell me that 'Goenka Skin Clinic & Hair Transplant Center, is one of the best and most affordable center for Dermatology, Cosmetology and Hair Transplant, you may contact them for further necesary follow up.

Brief Answer:
Hair regrowth with Ayurveda

Detailed Answer:
Dear

Thanks for reverting back.

1. If you want to recover from Ayurveda point of view, then sincerely check with an Ayurveda Physician for examination of physical constitution [PRAKRITI] since i. i. people having 'VATA' type of XXXXXXX are more prone to hair problems and/or
ii. excess of 'PITTA' in the body is chief cause of hair problem, so he will decide which of the two is more nearer to pathology.

2. From Ayurveda perspective, management is done according to:
i. Since hairs [kesh] are said to be end product of bones [asthi] thus medicines which acts on the bone tissues [asthi dhatu] are given/supplemented.
ii. first rejuvenation treatment for scalp and causes of hair fall is/are attended and later treatment for hair regrowth is advocated, as such Management schedule is as follow:
. first Rejuvenation of scalp then strengthening of hair root [to prevent further balding] and lastly management of any Imbalance causing vitiation of Vata.

3. Take diet rich in Vitamin C, sulphur, iron, zinc, Vitamin B-Complex and essential fatty acids. The diet should be well balanced and must contain green leafy vegetables, sprouts, salads, milk, fruits, proteins, soybean.
. AVOID
. all types of junk foods, fast foods with artificial colors/flavors, Vitamin A as overdose of vitamin A may cause hair loss.
. avoid pitta-aggravating diet such as fried, spicy and sour foods, yogurt, pickles, tea, coffee, alcohol and non-vegetarian foods, smoking, white flour/white sugar products
. Yoga poses for hair loss: Vajrasana,Pawanmuktasan both of them are considered as effective way to combat hair loss and free from side effects.

4. Initially the Physician will go with Panchkarma procedure [Shodhan Chikitsa] to improve the circulation of scalp [Rejuvenation]
Later for strengthening the hair roots Ayurveda Massage will be considered [Strengthening]
Lastly Imbalance will be attended [Do's & Dont's]

You may start with
1. SESA Oil [which is for external application only]
Action: Nourishes hair root and scalp, improves blood circulation to hair follicles, stimulates growth of thicker, healthy and longer hair, check hair los and arrests dandruff.

2. TRICHUP Capsule: [1 capsule thrice a day with water]
Action: useful in fungal and bacterial infection of scalp, and in hair fall.

5. Since rate varies from place to place and hospital to hospital, thus cannot comment on the subject, you will have to personally find and meet the doctor who after examination of the scalp will tell you about the charges.
