Suggest Medication To Manage Heavy Menstruation Due To Thick Uterine Lining

Question: Dear Dr. S Patra

I have a long history of heavy period as the linings of my uterus can be very thick.
I'm on depo shot at the moment and thinking of switching to pill.

Could you please advise me which contraception pills have high dose of progesterone which can thin the linings.
I know Yaz and XXXXXXX Thats all I know.
I did my research on internet but I couldn't find anything else.

YAZ contains 3 mg Drospirenone (4th Generation Progesterone) and 0.02 mg Ethinyl estradiol (estrogen).
XXXXXXX contains 3 mg Drospirenone and 0.03 mg Ethinyl estradiol as active ingredients.

Both are combined hormonal pills with SAME dose of progesterone component.

I suggest you NORETHISTERONE pill (like Primolut-N, Noriday, Aygestin etc) which contains HIGH dose of progesterone. It is much effective in your case.

Thanks for your answer.
Sorry that was not what I wanted to ask.
I was not clear as English is not my mother tongue.

1 My question was;
Could you please tell me the names of contraception pills which contain high dose of progesterone other than yaz and XXXXXXX

2 I have another question regarding your answer;
I was told by doctors in Australia that Primolut-N can be temporally solution but NOT permanently. and they advised to take contraception pills instead.
I asked doctors the reason why I cannot take Primolut-N permanently but they didn't give me any clear answer.
(I don't have allegey)

Why do you think doctors in Australia say that?
Do you think I can take primolut-N permanently?
My period can be awful without medication so I wish to be on pill permanently.

Hello,

Thanks for follow up query. I understand your problem.

1) There is NO such Combined hormonal pill preparation available with HIGH dose progesterone as component.

You can take Progesterone-Only-Contraceptive formulations which contain HIGH dose progesterone like Injectable Depo-Provera, Noristerat, Progesterone Only Pill etc.

2) PRIMOLUT-N (5 mg) or MEDROXY PROGESTERONE ACETATE (Provera 10 mg) contains HIGH dose progesterone. They can be used permanently in your case as these are more effective to control heavy bleeding.

I suggest you to take Norethisterone (like Primolut-N) or Provera as ADD-ON pill for FIRST 12 days of your cycle with YAZ or XXXXXXX combined hormonal pill. It should be continued in each cycle for 6 months at least.
