Posted on Wed, 29 Jul 2015
Question: My period is due on my wedding day 6 February 2016. I want my period to start a week early not delay it using primolut n as I don't want to be bloated like I usually am the days before I get my period. Is it best to take it in January 8 days earlier?also my period is always regular 28 days. If I took primolut n early for my next period would it then reset all the periods to follow? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Better to delay periods

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. It is always better to delay the periods rather than prepone them. Scheduling the periods earlier using Primulet N is not always successful and makes the waiting period stressful.
You can start Primulet N5 days before the expected periods and continue it till the periods are not desired.
If you also want contraception after marriage, then it is better to reschedule your periods using oral contraceptive pills. It is advisable to start oral contraceptive pills from the day 1 of the periods in January and continue them till the periods are not desired. Once you want the periods to come, you can stop taking the pills. The period will occur in next 5-7 days. You can continue taking oral contraceptives every month if you desire contraception.
No , you need not reschedule your periods every time later on.

I can't take the pill, I have tried many different types and it is not right for me. I really need to have my period before my wedding. The days before I get my period are just as bad with bloating and pain. If I postponed my next period next month would all of them to follow be on that new schedule?

Brief Answer:
Can prepone periods

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, thanks for responding. You can then prepone your periods by taking Primulet N from approximately day 14 of your last period and continue them for 5 days. Bleeding will occur within5-7 days of stopping the drug.
You don't need to reschedule the next periods of you delay one, the later ones adjust themselves according to the last menstrual period by virtue of body hormones.

So just want to check that by doin this tablets from day 14 it will alter my next period and all the periods that will follow. If I do it now my period won't revert back to the original schedule and it will come a week before my wedding?
So I should do it now, not just the period immediately before my wedding next year?

Brief Answer:
Can start rescheduling now

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, the subsequent periods after taking Primulet N come according to the 28-30 day cycle.
You can start rescheduling your periods now onwards also, though you may have to reschedule it again near marriage again, if dates clash. However, there is no problem in rescheduling your periods from now.
