Suggest Medication To Promote Optimal Wound Healing After Plate Fixation Surgery For Clavicle

Question: I have a healing scar about 6" long from a implant of a stainless steel plate on my clavicle. I had a displaced clavicle break pretty mid center of the clavicle.

Question is: I am about 7weeks out from surgery and although the healing incision is doing pretty well it still looks Frankenstein-ish. I am a swimmer and will be embarrassed about the reddish ugly scar. So can you recommend a treatment and or products that I can use to speed up the healing process?

Btw I have been lightly massaging it daily and the incision line is pretty flat now, just red and ugly.

You may use a topical silicone gel preparation e.g Kelocote gel Or Biocorneum gel, twice daily for 3-4 months at the site of scar to speed up the healing of scar. It helps to reduce the redness as well as flattens the scar thus making it less obvious.
