Brief Answer:
Lifestyle modification shld be first, if yet high medication to be started
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The bad cholesterol (LDL) and hence the total cholesterol is on the higher side. However its absence of risk factor, we can wait before we start medication.
Diet control, 45 mins of aerobic exercise everyday and supplements like omega 3 fatty acid 1 gm a day should be enough.
What is actually high is the triglycerides , however if he would have taken a heavy meal a night before the test that would explain high triglycerides.
If medication is to be started Rosuvastatin 10 mg with fenofibrate 145 mg to be started once a day.
Brandname is Rozavel F 10 mg at night before bedtime for 3 months would be ideal. Repeat lipid profile after 3 months.
