Answered by Dr. Aaron Branch (15 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
How long have you had loose motion?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Could you tell me more about the loose motion? Is the diarrhea watery? Is there any blood in it? Do you have any fevers? How many times have you had the diarrhea? Do you have any nausea or vomiting as well? Are you able to drink plenty of fluids?

In most cases, watery diarrhea is due to a virus or from food poisoning, and both of these cases, no specific treatment is needed. However, if you have a fever or blood in the diarrhea, this could be a bacterial cause, and an antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin or azithromycin would be considered. The most important thing is to stay well hydrated, and most causes this will resolve in a few days. In the meantime, I would avoid fatty foods or dairy (except yogurt), and if it persists for more than a week, I would see about getting your stool tested for any parasites.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
Regards.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be glad to help any way I can.
