Suggest Methods To Detect Cancer Apart From Biopsy
Question: Hi,
My Father-in-law aged 62year has lower right abodomen pain since 2 months. Initially he started consultation with physycians and they tried to conclude with acidic/gastric problems. Since pain started persisiting, he had a detailed GI consultation with ultra sound scan and CT scan at KMC XXXXXXX Scan report shown a ~2.4cm mass at outside wall of cecum towards ileum side. Colonoscopy did not provide any signs of tumor inside anywhere of intestine. With this report Doc suggested a laproscopy but mentioned not to be in hurry. SO he had planned to wait for a week or 2 for some personal arrangements. But with in 1 and half week the pain elevated and more persistent. This time he had consulted a surgen suggested by somebody and he requested for one more round of CT scan, this time result shown small(sub centimeters) but 3 or 4 lesions at R lube of liver along with same size mass at cecum wall as earlier.
Now surgen has peformed a laproscopy to take biopsy this is done on 10th Sep. As I understand from doc, this may be cancer, lymphoma or TB. Also he has mentioned if its a case of cancer(which he is confirming 90%+), then it is at Stage 4 looking at liver. LFT is turned out normal. We're all worried, could you please guide if there is any different method to diagnose early as biopsy result would take 7-10 days. We dont want to delay treatment any further if the result is of any type of cancer. Or pl suggest is there anything we can do at the moment, with out just waiting for biopsy result. Requesting your guidance. I dont have access to any of the reports at the moment, but I will try to arrange as soon as possible and upload.

Brief Answer:
Hello dear. Biopsy report is available in 3 days
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. You should not worry. Suppose , if it is tuberculosis, then a delay in biopsy wont cause any harm as it is completely curable.
Suppose it is cancer, then also no need to panic as it will be already stage 4 disease and delay in treatment is not going to cause any stage progression. Biopsy is usually available in 3 days.
We cannot procees without a biopsy report and it is must. There is no alternative.
Thanks and regards
