If you suffer from hepatic porphyria (an inherited disorder of porphyrin metabolism), and congenital deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6 -phosphate dehydrogenase. Check to make sure you do not have any of these. The usual dose is 1,2g at most 3times per day and never exceed 4g in a 24hours interval.
