Brief Answer:
HSV is a herpes viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
Iam Dr.Srilatha gynaecologist.I have gone through your query.
HSV is a herpes simplex virus. It is of two types 1 and 2.
a)Type 1:-
It causes oral herpes and lesions around mouth, lips etc.
Sometimes type 1 can also cause genital lesions.
It is spread by kissing, sharing common things etc.
b)Type 2:-
It causes lesions or ulcers over the genitals.
It is spread by sexual contact only.
Once the infection occurs the virus will not go outside the body but it remains dormant in nerves leading to recurrence.
The recurrence is provoked by the following factors:-
1)Any illness or surgery.
2)Stress
3)Low immunity status
So avoid following things to prevent contacting from infection:-
1)Avoid oral sex and kissing.
2)Do not share common things like utensils, towel, lip balm etc.
Nothing to worry regarding HSV because it does not cause any major complications.
And the ulcers usually subside before treatment.
So relax.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss further.
Best regards..Dr Srilatha
