Suggest Precautions To Be Taken Around A New Born When Having Viral Fever

Will the baby already have some immunity to fight germs
Better avoid contact/ aerosol spread
Detailed Answer:
Hi...as such by wht you quote I feel that your sister in law might be having a viral illness.
Viral fever can spread by contact or by aerosol route too. I suggest to avoid contact. She can visit but better not be in contact with the baby or in the same room.
But this might not be fool proof and still the baby can have inter-current viral illness, but we will not be sure from who, it got contacted.
Even if the baby gets fever, you need not worry. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
I wish your baby good health. If you need any future medical consultation and suggestions, I will be glad to help. You can approach me at the following link. Please find the link below.

Hi...
1. Nothing to worry. In this age babies the sleep cycle also called circadian rhythm of the biological clock will be setting and this type of sleep cycle is a quite common phenomenon. Nothing to worry.
2. By what you quote it seems to be a viral conjunctivitis settling. Nothing to worry. This irritation can go on for 3-4 weeks. But, eye conditions are best diagnosed only after seeing directly. I suggest you to upload photographs of the same on this website, so that I can guide you scientifically.
3. There is no specific recommendation on how many hours it should be worn per day. I usually tell my patients to put them on only while taking the baby out and at home I advise them to put on only cotton nappies. This I recommend to avoid unnecessary prolonged wetness at groin region which can cause fungal infections.
4. The head starts feeling completely hard at about 18 months of age.
