Suggest Remedies For SI Joint Pain And Dysfunction

default
Posted on Thu, 26 May 2016
Question: I have been struggling with my SI joint being out of alignment for approx one month. I've had about 8 sessions with a chiropractor. Although it seems my joint is realigned, though still weak, I'm having serious pain and spasms at my tailbone. When I wake up in the morning that area feels like there's a heavy weight attached to it and I'm very unstable. Any thoughts on the cause of what I should do going forward?

Brief Answer:
Get a joint injection for excellent relief. Avoid Chiropractors

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

I would not recommend you get treated by a Chiropractor for health conditions as such.

There are best treatment modalities available in Allopathic Medical science for the same.

You can get a Sacroiliac joint injection with local anaesthetic and steroid for excellent pain relief. Also avoid sitting on the floor, lifting heavy weights or bending forwards.

Application of wet heat will also help in dealing with the arthritis.

This injection has minimal side effects and won't put your joints through more risk as with a chiropractor.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Thank you. I'm hoping to see a Dr ASAP Is an injection a temporary fix for a more involved problem or is there inflammation due to the SI issue that the injection will resolve? Would physical therapy be a good option?
