Suggest Remedies For A Dark Rough Patch On The Ankle
Question: I have a dark, thick, rough patch of skin on my ankle. At first i thought it was just dry skin but no lotions or creams help it at all. Every once in a while thick pieces of skin will peel off of it. It doesn't hurt or itch. What could this be?
Brief Answer:
use a potent topical steroid and salicylic acid combinatiopn ointment
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
i am dr.kakkar(dermatologist). I have gone through your query abd i have reviewed the image.
Its a dry, red, scaly patch of eczema, probably psoriasis.
In addition to the moisturiser i would suggest you to use a potent topical steroid + salicylic acid combination ointment e.g clobetasol propionate 0.05% + salicylic acid 3% ointment, twice daily.
Regards
