Suggest Remedies For A Painful And Swollen Vein In Lower Forearm

default
Posted on Tue, 4 Oct 2016
Question: I have recently developed quite a painful swollen (guessing cephalic) vein in my lower forearm, just above the wrist..resolves if I hold my hand up to the sky but immediately returns to pain and swelling when I lower it. Symptoms unrelated to any specific activity. I'm 56 and in general good health. Is this just aging or should I get seen quickly? I have a checkup scheduled for about 1 month from now.

Brief Answer:
I would like to see image of the vein

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Pain in forearm can be due to nerve compression or inflamed vein. But before I advised you anything I would like to know little detail of the illness.
1.Can you send me picture of enlarged vein?
2.Do you have tingling or numbness in forearm?
3.Have you been given any injection in this forearm in recent past?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
thanks

There is no numbness or tingling, but a definite constant burning sensation at about 5 on the 10 scale. I have not been treated or injected in the past for this, onset has been very recent. Please let me know how to send a picture to you. Thanks.

I figured out how to send the photo. Please let me know if you need a different angle or more info. Thanks.
