Suggest Remedies For A Red Triangular Spot On The Penis Shaft

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Jul 2016
Question: I Have had a red triangular spot on the shaft of my penis just below the head for several months. It does not itch or burn and has never had any discharge. It only gets red after sex. My sexual encounters have only been with my wife of 16 years and both of us are monogamous.
I have tried hydrocortisone creams, antibacterial creams, soaked it in Listerine, apple cider vinegar, baking soda and nothing seems to get rid of it. Vitamin E oil helps after sex as well as Man 1 oil but I am cofused at what caused this and what can make it clear up. I can't think of any soaps that could be causing it either and really wash well.

This is a simple wear a and tear process of skin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for red triangular spot on the shaft of your penile head.

I have analyzed your query with complete diligence. Though a picture of the area would have helped us a lot but even then the history and description of the area indicates your condition towards simple "Lichenoid eruption".

To tell you about Lichenoid eruptions : this is a simple wear a and tear process of skin which can occur at any site at any time. These are formed due to friction or trauma of mild nature which is quite common at penile site. As the penile skin is very thin and with aging also there are more tendency of frictional trauma, so one can find more prominence of the area or more redness after intercourse. Many a times I have sen this kind of condition due to synthetic undergarments which touches the penile head causing more friction and irritation.

I suggest you to not to apply any home remedies such as apple cidar vinegar, baking soda or even any medicated creams as it could get more irritated and aggravated by these things. You can apply simple petroleum jelly over the rough area. If you feel any itching over the area then can take antihistamines under medical guidance. Avoid vigorous action or more friction during intercourse. Wear cotton undergarments of soft fabric and avoid synthetic undergarments or tight trousers.

Let me also reassure you that it has got no relation with any type of Sexually transmitted diseases.

I hope this information will relax your mind.
