Suggest Remedies For Accidental Ingestion Of Ibuprofen By A Child
Question: My three year old granddaughter was able to open a bottle of ibuprofen and swallowed at least one. We don't know for sure how many... What should we watch for..?
Brief Answer:
Complications of Ibuprofen over dose
Detailed Answer:
Hi.... I understand your concern.
You need to be on the lookout for excessive vomiting due to gastritis, dehydration, constipation, dizziness or reeling sensation, rash all over the body, epigastric pain, nausea, tinnitus (ringing in ears) and fluid retention along with edema.
But sometimes acute overdosage can cause acute renal failure due to tubular necrosis in the kidneys. So, as we do not know how many tablets she has consumed I suggest you take her to the nearest Emergency Room as soon as possible and get a stomach wash done. She also needs to be attended by a physician.
