Suggest Remedies For Accidental Ingestion Of Light Bulb By A Child
Question: my 17 month old just ate a little white light off the Christmas tree and swallowed it
Brief Answer:
Go to ER immediately.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I recommend that you take her in to the ER even if she is not bothered by it. There they can get an Xray to see where it is and how big it is.
While it may not bother her stomach, it may get compressed further down her digestive tract and be at risk of shattering or obstructing. If retrieving it is necessary, it is easiest to get it out of the stomach.
So go in immediately. Please let me know how she is doing after you have gone in.
