Suggest Remedies For Blood Clots On The Nail
Question: Toe nails turned blood- clot like and stay for months. Aspirin was taken before that happened. Was this the cause. What sh. be the treatment? Picture attached. Thank you!
Brief Answer:
Could be bleeding or fungal infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have seen the picture and in my opinion there are two main possibilities.
1. Bleeding under the nail bed- could have occurred due to trivial injury or tight shoes after prolonged walking. Aspirin increases bleeding incidence.
2. Fungal Infection of toe nails which is a very frequent condition.
I suggest that you start wearing loose shoes, take anti fungal medication and local anti fungal cream . Wait for 2-3 weeks after starting treatment and then reassess the condition.
Thanx for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
