Question: What is the best antibiotic to prescribe for a cat puncture wound to the hand from a feral cat?

I prefer Linezolid tablet.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Infection after Cat bite is common.
Initially, the wound should be cleaned under running tap water.I apply Povidone iodine ointment over the wound.
To prevent bacterial infection, I prescribe Antibiotic Linezolid tablet 600mg twice daily for 1 week to my patients.
Rabies vaccination should also be given.
Please consult your doctor, get examined clinically and get appropriate prescription.
