Question: I got tested for IGG (not IGM) Hsv1/2 type AB specific test. Hsv1 is 58 HSV 2 is 3.49. Was told to get a WEstern Blot test because if hsv level is below a 3.5 it could be a false positive and some of the hsv 1 could have been transferred over. I have Never had a cold sore or bump or sorr in Genital area. Please help me. Should I get tested over? Do u think this is a false positive for hsv2 since it’s on the borderline?

Brief Answer:
Further test is not necessary

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
There is no known drug to cure HSV infection totally from the body. Drugs can cure the present attack and not able to prevent either recurrence or can not remove the virus from the body.
When there is no manifestation for you, you need not worry about the same.
Many people (around 40% of any community) would have exposed to HSV infection and likely to have antibodies against HSV without any lesion.
Ignore the report. Not necessary to go for further test.
