Suggest Remedies For Constant Pain, Numbness In Hands And Burning Finger Tips

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: I have had constant pain in my hands for several months. The pain is similar to numbness, hands asleep, slight electrical shock or a burning sensation on the finger tips. To complicate things i was stung by a "Bark" scorpion in January in Mexico. The reaction to the sting was severe including some temporary paralysis. I have been to a neurologist and a toxicoligist. Both say it is a result of the venom and will get well with time. It is only getting worse. I have heard that this could be a symptom of cervical disc problems.
I don't know where to go next. It is getting more uncomfortable every day. Any suggestions?

Brief Answer:
Get investigated as advised and try drugs as indicated

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXX,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Pain, Numbness and tingling in few finger tips of a hand can be due to cervical disc disease causing compression of nerve roots.
Other possibility may be neuropathy either due to venom or any other cause.
Is there any associated neck pain, symptoms in other hand, urinary complains?
Any diabetes or other illness?
Any joint swelling?
You can get examined by a neurologist or neurosurgeon again for possibility of disc disease and get a Mri cervical spine.
Neuropathy can be diagnosed by nerve conduction study.
For modulation of pain symptoms you can take pregabalin, gabapentin or amitryptiline.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
