Suggest Remedies For Constipation
Question: Hello doc, I am on mirtaz 15+1/2 of 2.5 olimelt + Lesuride mps 25 in the night. Took librax mor/eve for a week and then stopped night dosage, now only take morning dosage. My symptoms are IBS, anticipatory anxiety and meeting phobia. I have following doubts:
Though my IBS is better than before but constipation still bothers me. Is it coz of librax? For the last two- three days, I have been observing my tounge slipping while pronouncing some words (like slurring) and at times I find it difficult to find the right words while talking also become conscious of my speech, which was not the case earlier. What according to you can be the reason? Is it librax or Lesuride mps since these are the two additions for the last 10 days? If it coz of librax, how should I go about tapering it off or I can go cold turkey with it? Also, will it help with my constipation
My sleep is full of dreams, what can be attributed to it?

The cause of constipation in your case could be due to doses of Mirtazapine or this could be occurring due to Librax. But one single tablet of Librax can't cause severe constipation.
The tongue slipping or slurring like speech is probably there due to persistent anxiety. Wait for some days and this would improve. This is surely not due to Librax or Lesuride.
No need to taper Librax. Continue to take the drug. Increase water intake and take high fibre diet. This will soften the stools and you will feel better. Start taking citrus fruits and if possible at least 2 Kiwi fruits per day. This would help you a lot.
The increased dreams are there because of Mirtazapine. Mirtazapine is known to cause weird dreams. If this is resulting in poor non refreshing sleep then we can think of reducing the dose of the drug.
Yes you should increase the dose to 50 mg per day in morming. This will help in better symptoms control.

Thank you doctor. How should I go about reducing mirtaz, should I take 7.5 or 7.5+1/2of7.5? Do you think it will have any withdrawal symptoms?

Thank you doc. If I understand correctly, according to you, I should the following changes:
Mirtaz 7.5 + 1/2 of olimelt 2.5 in the night
Lesuride 50 mouth dissolving instead of 25 mps + librax in the morning
Just wanted to check 1/2 of librax to take when to compensate for the reduction of mirtaz from 15 to 7.5!

Yes, Mirtazapine one tablet 7.5 mg in evening along with half of 2.5 mg Olanzapine. In morning 50 mg Levosulpiride and Librax one tablet. If you have some withdrawal symptoms then you can take half of Librax.
