Suggest Remedies For Depression

Question: Hi im asking on here because i dont know what to do anymore basically im 18 years old and having really bad thoughts in life. I wake up as tired as i go to sleep the night before if not even sleepier. I go days where I eat so much to days where i cant eat anything. I have days where I wake up and just dont want to move or see anyone and cry to myself all day long and days where all i want to do is get out the house. My mixed emotions are now affecting my work and social life as i burst into tears when i cant take the pressure at work or I upset my partner because i could be smiling away then all of a sudden be in tears and i dont even know why and it upsets him because he wants me to talk about it but i dont know how or i just get really moody about the littlest things and think that the world would be better without me and my boyfriend can do better. My friends we could be having a great time and then i can go into a state of crying! What could be causing this i just dont know what to do im so tired and just have no motivation at all anymore.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.
What you are describing is a classic major depressive episode. I'm sorry you are experiencing depression, but there is good news -- this is a completely treatable condition. Visit your primary care doctor and talk about this with them -- an antidepressant such as escitalopram, sertraline, or fluoxetine can cure these symptoms over a period of 2-4 weeks. You will feel better!
