Brief Answer:
Decrease saliva production can be the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Decrease in saliva production can bethe reason of dry mouth and throat.
Improving saliva production will be helpful for this.
For this 1. You can hydrate yourself well by taking more plain water. Eating cucumber or watermelon is also god for this.
2. Avoid breathing through mouth and always breath through nose. If you have nasal block it should be treated.
3. Chewing sugarless gum , sucking cherry or lemon is good also.
4. Use flouridated tooth paste for brushing teeth.
5. If there is any dental problem then consult your dentist to clear it.
Use a room vapourizer to moisturise your room air.
You can use a salivary substitute if these measures are not helping. Oralube or xerolube are some of this.
Alcohol consumption can cause dryness due to nerve irritation. So better avoid it. Caffeine or coffee also should be limited..
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
