Brief Answer:
Reduce concentration from 5 to 2 percent, use eflornithine hydrochloride

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I understand your concern but excessive hair growth on forehead and cheeks is a side effect of topical minoxidil.
I would recommend you to reduce the concentration of minoxidil from 5 percent to 2 percent. It won't reduce the efficacy of minoxidil but will definitely decrease the side effect of increased hair growth.
In such cases I recommend my patients to use eflornithine hydrochloride 13.9 percent cream on the affected areas twice daily for 3-4 months.
This is a prescription drug and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.

Dr Asmeet

Brief Answer:
Continue for another 3 months

Detailed Answer:
You can continue with mintop for another 3 months to see the response.
There are various brands of eflornithine cream available in the market like eflora cream and efnithin cream.
