Brief Answer:
post flu syndrome will settle down in a week!

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
Firstly thanks for choosing health care magic for your query!

Have noted all your details,
Fatigue is a feeling of tiredness which is either extreme, persistent or both. The flu can cause you to feel tired and drained, symptoms often appear at the start of the flu episode and may precede other symptoms, some times for weeks.Old age makes recovery still long.Flu and fever may cause electrolyte disbalance,A problem with the minerals (electrolytes) found naturally in the body, such as low levels of potassium or sodium may cause extreme tiredness and a dizzy feeling. Its usual for the body to take 2-3 weeks to recover from the effects of flu,age again increases the intensity of problem.

I would advice you to get your serum electrolytes level checked, a low sodium or potassium may be responsible for the problem.

take a natural multivitamin antioxidant supplement for 1 week , it will hasten your recovery, sleep at least 8 hours a day, don't panic.Don't over exert yourself, try to increase your limits gradually, drink plenty of water keep your self rehydrated , juices like orange juice or apple juice should be taken .A high salt diet can be taken for 1 week.

If the problem persists even after a week , then we will consider this feeling of fainting as presyncope-Presyncope is a state of lightheadedness, muscular weakness, blurred vision, and feeling faint (as opposed to a syncope, which is actually fainting). Presyncope is most often cardiovascular in etiology,so full cardiac baseline investigations will be done , But for now take rest and follow what i adviced for a week ,most likely you will be fine in a week.

In case you have any other query feel free to ask!
